The last two weeks have been a lot of fun. David's sister Bernice came for a visit. She lives in Yuma and this was the first David had seen her since she was a few years old. Both David and I were immediately taken by her. She is a beautiful, smart, confident and sweet 15 year old girl.

Most of the time with her has been spent hanging out with Yvonne, going out to eat and shopping. On Wednesday, Sandy, Yvonne, Bernice and I went to Magic Mountain. We had so much fun on the first tree rides, Tatsu being our favorite. The fourth ride though was a different story. We got on Deja Vu and even though Bernice said she probably should not get on, we convinced her she would be alright. WRONG! The poor thing did not make a sound on the ride and when we got off she was very dizzy and ran to the first shaded bench she could find. Without going into all the details, she become terribly sick and was unable to regain her bearings for over and hour. This scarred us and we contacted the park paramedics. Luckily, she check out fine and was released back into our custody a few minutes later and after Sandy had to call Bernice's mom and try to explain the situation.
Looking back now it was rather funny. One of the paramedics was very good looking and Bernice was so embarrassed because of how she looked and the fact that he was standing in the same spot where she had gotten sick. Needless to say, that ended our day and we headed home. We have informed Bernice that this story will be brought up every time we are together, because like the rest of us, we need an embarrassing story to tell about her when we are all together.

On Thursday night we all went to the beach for a bonfire and to roast hot dogs and smores. We had a good time. It was too cold to go swimming but we were able to get our feet wet and Bernice got to catch a big piece if seaweed. She was happy! Bernice went home last weekend and we all miss her already. Hopefully, she will be back for a short break in Aug and then again in Dec.
