Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday

  • Sore muscles because it means my 1st session with my personal trainer went well.
  • The day off. I need to get caught up on so many things around the house, although it is almost time to go pick up Bella and I looks like I have not done much.
  • Healthy family. We volunteered at the Ronald McDonald house last Friday with the our Girl Scout Troop and found it was fun/rewarding and a bit sad at the same time.
  • Family members who double as best friends.
  • A job that provides paid vacation time. Shasta here we come in 2 weeks.

Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday

Happy Thursday! Only one more day until the weekend ~woohoo!

Today I am thankful for:

  • OTC cold medicine. God bless the person(s) who figured out the formula.
  • Yarn - for keeping me occupied and officially addicted to crochet.
  • A job who provides paid sick leave.
  • God for giving me my wonderful family, friends and said job. I am always amazed at how perfectly He plans things. Even when it seems horrible, when all is said and done I can always look back and think "OH! I get it....good job God!"

Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday

Greg @Greg's General Store host "Thankful Thursday" every week. I always love looking back at the last week and realizing the things I am thankful for are not always what I would expect. Here is my list for this week.

  1. Bella & Isaiah. This week, David & I have started picking up Isaiah after school. Although I know he would rather be at home, I love having him here. I love coming home from work and seeing him and David making dinner while Bella is at the kitchen table doing her homework, or listening to him give his Tio David a hard time about almost everything.
  2. Girls Scout. I love what Bella is learning about being a good citizen and friend through Girl Scouts. I am so happy we put her in it.
  3. Tracie and Michelle. My sister and my best friend. We have recently had some family issue's arise that I am not going to go into detail about but, it did make me extra thankful for my sister and best friend. I am thankful that they love and accept me for me. They may not always agree with what I do, think, or say, but they never judge me.
  4. My job. I feel like I always post this when I participate in Thankful Thursday, but it's the truth. I see and hear about so many people struggling to find work and I am so happy that I have somewhere to go 5 days a week that pays me rather well.
  5. Fuzzy socks. I posted about these the other day but I have to do it again. They have really saved my piggy's these last few COLD weeks.

Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday

Wow! It has been awhile since I have posted a "Thankful Thursday", which are now being hosted by Greg @ Greg's General Store

Here is my list for this week:

  • Rain - boy do I love rainy weather. I'm not sure why but I tend to feel my spirits rise and I get energy out of nowhere as soon as I smell it coming. In SoCal, the smog gets pretty bad, especially here where we are. We are in a valley and it just settles itself on down. It takes a good rain or strong Santa Ana winds to push it away. The last two days we have had rain and this morning the sky was so blue and the mountains looked so vibrant. It is one of the few times the local landscape takes my breath away and I can see the beauty God created.
  • Softball. Your probably thinkin' "What?!?" Let me explain. Putting Isabella in softball was one of the best things we have done; aside form raising her, feeding her and keeping her safe and healthy. She not only learned some great skills, but she made some new wonderful friends and gained confidence in her abilities. I will be sad to see it end next week. Go Majestic!
  • My job. At work we are once again having problems with peoples attendance. I work in a call center and if you ever have, then you know people LOVE to call out sick for anything. Unfortunately, this makes work more difficult for those of us who do come in. Yesterday, once again, I attending a meeting where attendance was the hot topic and it got me thinking about how much I actually like my job. Don't get me wrong, nursing school is still the plan, but until that time, I am so thankful I get to go to my current job everyday. I am thankful that I have a wonderful supervisor and upper management who respect me. I am thankful that I get paid every two weeks like clock work. I am thankful that my schedule allows me the time to take classes, volunteer in Isabella's class room and attend her extra curricular activities.
  • My friends. Over the past few days I was able to spend time with friends who I had not seen in awhile. I have been friends with these women since high school and it is such a great feeling to know that after all these years, I still have my "sisters". God brings people into your life, sometimes for a season and sometimes for many seasons. I feel truly blessed that he has kept some many in my life for so many seasons.

Thankful Thursday for 10/15/09

Thankful Thursday at Truth 4 the Journey

I am thankful for:
  1. That God has surround me with other wonderful mothers at Isabella's school. When we left Sonrise Christian (private) to go to the public school system, I was nervous about the meeting the other parents. Some of the parents have proved my stereotypes true, but most of them have been just wonderful.
Today, Bella did not want to go to the after school program because some boy has been picking on her. Two other mothers helped calm her down and walk her to the class & then one called me this evening to check on her.
  2. Jehovah-Jireh ~ the Lord has definitely been looking over us and making sure we are getting what we need. Without going into detail's - we don't have much but we have enough.
  3. For well stock pantry that had cake mix & frosting for a last minute cupcake craving. It went well with my hot coco tonight.
  4. For David and Bella. No matter how stressful things are, when I look at them I feel calm again.
  5. That the Lord healed Bella. She had such a rough week with the flu, but is now back to her usual self.

Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday at Truth 4 the Journey
  1. I am thankful that the Lords gives me challenges and test but never leaves me to handle them on my own. He is always there to hold my hand as I learn the things He wants me too and that the challenges are usually and answer to one of my prayers.
  2. For my small little apartment. After visiting the Rescue Mission (see post earlier this week) and seeing how happy some people are to get so little, made me realize just how blessed I am and that I take a lot for granted.
  3. I am thankful for the opportunity to serve as Isabella's Head Room Mom this year. At first, I was not happy that I had been selected, since I did not volunteer for the job, but then realized this is something I can handle and it makes Bella very happy. That is all that matters.
  4. I am thankful for friendships that span 20+years. It is amazing that people can grow together and stay so close. They are truly mi sisters
  5. I am thankful that the Lord is the ultimate healer and that once again my mom's doctor found no new signs of cancer and it seems the tumors are continuing to shrink.

Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday at Truth 4 the Journey

This week I am thankful for......

1. My new Pampered Chef Deep Covered Stoneware Baker. It helped me make the most moist baked chicken and a beef roast this week. My family was very happy & well feed.

2. For my in-laws, who allowed me to do a few loads of laundry at there house this week which saved me money at the laundry mat.

3. That our desk-top did not crash the day after the lap top crashed - it was just a loose monitor cable. I thought I had lost all of my pictures.

4. That flash drives are cheap and it is easy to back-up all my pictures now. (lesson learned)

5. That my child is healthy, that the worst it ever gets is fever and congestion.

Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday at Truth 4 the Journey

Happy Thursday! If you would like to join in on Thankful Thursday, check out Truth 4 the Journey.

This week, I am thankful for:
  1. The chance to visit my family last week. Being able to go "home" to Oregon was a true blessing from the Lord. We were not supposed to go, due to financial reasons, but the Lord made it possible thru the help of family.
  2. That Bella was able to meet and spend time w/great grandparents & great-great-great aunt's and uncles. I think one feels so much more connected to family when they are able to get to know the older generations. (Thank you Lord for granted good health to so many family members)
  3. Crystal Light - I have been able to increase my water intake 10 fold because of these glorious little packets ;-)
  4. Salt water taffy - I brought some home from Seaside OR & by having a little piece every day, I am able to extend my vacation (at least in my mind).
  5. For my hand healing so quickly. On Tuesday evening I grabbed a screaming hot skillet bare handed and spend the ENTIRE night with my hand in a bowl of water and today it feels perfect. Praise the Lord for His healing abilities!
